    Description

    Hollow Body Female Canvas Back Duck Decoy
    Up for your consideration is this vintage hand carved hollow body wood Female Canvas Back Duck Decoy by a Saginaw Bay, Michigan, carver with initials LM. Circa is 1920's. This is part of a private collection of Saginaw Bay and Port Huron, Michigan decoy carvers. Paint is original to the decoy and includes the white middle and grey body and black bill. Red glass eyes. Bottom boards. Leather tab on front bottom. Has a cracked bottom bill and a couple gouge marks. Please look at picture for more detail. LM is stamped into wood weight on underside. Canvas Back Duck Statistics: Weight 3#, Length 16.5", Height from bottom to top of head 9", Girth at widest part of body 13",and 1" bottom board plate.
