This is a beautifully detailed Rinconada chimpanzee or monkey with baby! This was part of the
'Lost 13'
pieces that were produced in Argentina. The size was larger than the classics and produced for a short time in Argentina then lost in a warehouse until many years later. The pieces were very detailed
! The detail is exquisite with the designs carved on the shell.
This piece (as are all of the Artesania Rinconada collections) was hand carved and painted in Uruguay, then fired in a kiln-twice. Because they are all hand painted and carved, no two are exactly alike. That is one of the beautiful and unique things about Rinconada.
The Chimpanzee and baby has been
stored for many years. This piece is approximately 5 1/4" tall, it will also come in the original box.
