Frank Holton Chicago "New Proportion" Cornet Original Case Patent Apr 1813
that is up for today's auction and being sold as is for restoration.
The trumpet is playable and the
valves move freely. It
looks to be in fair shape for it's age with minor
scuffs,scratches and
ding from normal use. The trumpet
will most likely need to be serviced because
all the
slides and mouth piece seem to be stuck.
The serial number is in the 294X
X range
which dates the year of manufacture to approximately 1915.
This trumpet has the potential to be a beautiful and fantastic playing instrument after it has been fully restored. Included is a Frank Holton Cornet Music Lyre and rounded style wood shell trumpet case that's in decent shape.
