    Description

Solid cedar antique coot decoy made by Albert Koepsel, Neenah, WI, circa 1940, this decoy is pictured on page 69 of Ron Koch's book 'Decoys of the Winnebago Lakes'.  It is structurally very sound, has painted red eyes just as pictured in the book, it is all original paint and some streaks of orange paint can be seen underneath the black coot paint, in other words, he primed his decoys when making them with orange tractor paint.  This was very common with decoy makers in the Neenah, WI area.  They felt tractor paint was tough so they would use it as a base coat.  This does not attract from the decoy's overall appearance.  This coot is an excellent example of Mr. Koepsel's work and is a nice addition to any coot collection.  No returns.  I'll pay shipping to the lower 48 states only.
